Two-dimensional Elements in Fiber-reinforced Concrete

The New Boundaries of Structural Concrete Session B – Controlled-performance Concrete

Memoria tratta da "The New Boundaries of Structural Concrete: Session B – Controlled-performance Concrete", ACI IC - Ancona 2011

The interest for the fiber-reinforced concrete is remarkably increased during the last few years, above all for the cases in which fibers can replace, partially or totally, the traditional steel reinforcement. Consequently it appears useful and necessary to define models and simplified formulations for the evaluation of simple one or two dimensional schemes. Aim of this study is the definition of simplified models, typical of the limit analysis, for the evaluation of the ultimate load and the collapse mechanism of slab and plate elements, mainly subjected to concentrated forces. An interesting application will be devoted to the modeling of the punching mechanisms, typical of bridge slabs subjected to concentrated loads, of fiber-reinforced concrete slabs with or without traditional reinforcement. To such aim explicit reference to models based on the static and kinematic theorems will be made, for the definition of the tensional fields, collapse loads and mechanisms.
