In 2006 he became a research fellow at the Institute of Methodologies for Environmental Analysis of the National Research Council and subsequently, in 2012, won a public competition for a Permanent Researcher position at the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development. Since 2006, he has been constantly involved in national and international projects focusing on natural hazard/risk assessment and management. He has collaborations with several universities and research institutes. His research activity is mainly devoted to the study of natural and human-induced hazards (e.g. earthquakes, landslides, human-induced seismicity, etc.) and to energy resources assessment and management. Furthermore, he has extensive experience in subsurface tomography for geophysical and environmental studies, and integration of in-situ and satellite observations for environmental applications. His research activity is documented by numerous papers published in international peer-reviewed journals. He serves as a reviewer for several relevant international journals.
