6th International Conference on Computational Methods in Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering
Objectives
The previous meetings of COMPDYN were held in Rethymno, Crete (2007), Rhodes (2009), Corfu (2011), Kos (2013), Hersonissos, Crete (2015) and attracted more than 2.300 participants in total.
The increasing necessity to solve complex problems in Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering requires the development of new ideas and innovative methods for providing accurate numerical solutions in affordable computing times.
The purpose of this Conference series is to bring together the scientific communities of Computational Mechanics, Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering in an effort to facilitate the exchange of ideas in topics of mutual interest and to serve as a platform for establishing links between research groups with complementary activities. The communities of Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering will benefit from this interaction, acquainting them with advanced computational methods and software tools which can highly assist in tackling complex problems in dynamic/seismic analysis and design, while also giving the Computational Mechanics community the opportunity to become more familiar with very important application areas of great social impact.
Sessions related to specific topics of the Conference will be introduced by Keynote Lectures which will be complemented by invited Minisymposia, organized by recognized experts in research areas of current interest, as well as by contributed papers.
In addition in the frame of the Conference a workshop of the EU – funded project INNOSEIS on Innovative anti-seismic devices for buildings will be organized.
An ECCOMAS Τhematic Conference
COMPDYN 2017 is one of the Thematic Conferences of the European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences (ECCOMAS) and a Special Interest Conference of the International Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM). It has also been promoted by the European Committee on Computational Solids and Structural Mechanics (ECCSM) of ECCOMAS. COMPDYN 2017 will be held in conjunction with the 2nd International Conference on Uncertainty Quantification in Computational Sciences and Engineering (UNCECOMP 2017), also an ECCOMAS Thematic Conference.

Presentation & Equipment:
All presentations will be oral. The Conference will not provide computers for presentations. All presentations will be made with a laptop computer using a LCD projector. You are kindly requested to test your laptop with the projector in your meeting room during the coffee-break before your presentation. We recommend you to have a backup of your presentation on a USB storage device in the event your laptop has a technical problem or is incompatible with the LCD projector. Make sure that you have the necessary cords/converters/adapters so that your laptop will work with European power outlets and the LCD projector.
